咫尺校园，天下视野：我为两会来献策

Hello, everyone, I’m Joe Willetts from 21st century English Newspaper. As the two sessions are drawing near, we have come to the High School attached to Tsinghua University to find out what they expect most from this great event.

大家好，我是二十一世纪英文报的小周老师。随着“两会”临近，我们走进清华附中，来采访一下这里的学生们对此有何期待。

The two sessions, held every year, is a great chance for Chinese people to make decisions regarding the country, like making and changing laws. So in this episode, we will quiz high school students on some buzz words from the two sessions. How much will they know about the two sessions? How good will their English be? Let’s find out!

一年一度的“两会”，是中国人民对立法等国家大事进言献策的绝佳时机。在本期节目中，我们用“两会”知识来考一考高中的同学们。看看他们对两会了解多少，听一听他们的英语水平如何，一起来看看吧！

1. What do you expect most from this year’s two sessions?

你对今年“两会”最期待的是什么？

曹凌微

I guess what I am most interested in is about education. Because as teenagers, the college entrance examination is what we are facing right now. 

我想我最感兴趣的是教育话题。因为作为青少年，高考是我们目前面临的关卡。

邱云中

我希望今年的两会可以更直接地去关注一下我们学生这个群体。去给我们学生以更大的一些活动安排，或者是一些实践体验。

李楚琪

I expect that because the conference is mainly to give some useful suggestions. So I expect that there will be some inspiring and very useful suggestions from the representatives. 

我认为这次会议的主要任务，是要提出一些有用的建议。因此我期待着代表们能够提出一些有启发性的、实用的提议。

张峰搏

Well, as a teenager, of course, I hope that things related to us students could be discussed more. Because I believe students in China are not very easy. We have a lot of stress. 

作为一名青少年，我当然希望跟学生相关的问题能够被更多地讨论。因为我认为中国的学生们都不容易。我们压力很大。

马乐妍

As a student studying in Beijing, I am facing the reforms of examinations for colleges. So I hope there will be policies that ensure the fairness of the exam.

作为在北京就学的学生，我也正面临着高考改革。因此我希望能够有政策来确保考试公平。

王嘉沐

我希望在今年的两会上，能够有更多的投入，投入到比如科学建设中。同时希望一些新媒体能够将更多的注意力放到贫困地区及科技的建设上，让人们能够对这方面有更多的了解。

2. What do you want to propose in person to the two sessions meetings?

你想给“两会”提出什么建议？

张峰搏

Well, I think as a student, I have several suggestions to our education system and our schools. For example, in China’s education system, especially in middle school education system, the school doesn’t really teach us something out of the books. And I think students in China should learn more than books, for example, life skills, such as how we can communicate with other people effectively and efficiently. These life skills are what we really need.

我觉得作为一名学生，我对于我们的教育系统和学校有几个建议。例如，在中国的教育系统中，特别是中学教育系统中，学校其实并没有教我们多少书本外的东西。而我认为中国的学生应当不仅要学习书本知识。例如，（我们还要学）生活技能，比如如何与他人高效地交流。这些生活技能是我们真正需要的。

李楚琪

For myself, I have recently watched a documentary film that focuses on like, some people, they have special diseases. For example, like, somebody has cancer. Some kids have cancer inside their body, like on the bones. And some people have, like, they breathe too much dust inside their lungs. And it is mainly because of their work. So I just hope that doctors and experts can give some suggestions to promote better living for those patients.

就我个人而言，我最近看了一部纪录片。该片聚焦一些患有特殊疾病的人。例如，有人得了癌症。甚至有的孩子得了癌症，比如骨癌；而有的人肺里吸入了太多的粉尘。这是因为他们的职业造成的。因此我希望医生们和专家们能够提出一些建议来改善这些病人的生活。

邱云中

如果我参加两会的话，最想提议的就是关于我国的美术教育和音乐教育这方面。比如说，国家可以安排更多的一些文化交流活动或者是音乐会这样的方式，去提升中学生的音乐素养。

曹凌微

Personally, I think the government should put into more efforts, more specifically, more teaching resources, to the rural areas or the mountain areas, so that they can help out the children left behind.

就个人而言，我认为政府应当加大投入，特别是教育资源方面的投入，到农村地区或者山区。这样才能帮助那些留守儿童。

马乐妍

然后我们最近看到了互联网可以减小教育之间的差距。所以我希望互联网可以在更多的地区得到应用。

王嘉沐

Personally, I want… there should be a new law to be published in order to control the rapid growth on extracurricular classes, in order to make good use of the school curriculum. 

就我个人而言，我认为应当通过一项新的法律来控制校外培训课程的迅速扩张，从而更好地利用校内课程。
